MEET JULIA, VTG COLLECTOR AND OWNER OF @WASHEDOUTVTG
hi im J - im a big vintage enthusiast and somehow have made my entire career thus far in the sustainable fashion industry. what keeps me drawn to this part of the fashion industry, aside from the sustainable factor, is the endless possibilities for personal style and individuality. i love a good y2k moment, a super soft band or baby tee, the baggiest of cargo pants, or even a chunky skate shoe. i picked up roller skating this year so 90s sk8r boy is my current aesthetic. Bam Margera was my first love LOL. when buying for shops, im far more drawn to cool prints, silhouettes, and textured fabrics and ive always loved trend forecasting. my fashion sense has always been heavily inspired by early internet culture, leading up the to mid-2000s. some inspos include Sims, Dollz Mania, RuneScape, that one Lizzie McGuire game on disney.com, Guitar Hero; I was always in it for the outfit customization. scroll down to see some gems currently in my eBay watchlist 💯
must have 2-4 years of experience as a visual designer working in a creative agency setting or brand-side, strong foundational graphic design skills; experience with typography preferred, experience with Adobe Photoshop, Figma, and/or Sketch, experience with motion or animation is a plus, but not necessary
also seeking a Social & PR Intern. apply here.
STEALS: JULIA’S WATCHLIST ✌🏼
i have been hardcore eyeing this Elliott Smith tee for a minute, definitely at a great price for what i’ve seen them go for.
no link for this one, but I live in my 90s Tastes Like Candy Hole tee that my partner found at the bins. it’s the perfect black baby tee and I fucking love Hole. Courtney has some pretty raw insta posts about the music industry for women in the 80s and 90s and tbh, I find that she’s often pretty misunderstood.
i thrifted the Adios of my adolescent dreams about a year ago and they’re still going strong as a staple piece in my wardrobe. they’re black w/ white skulls and hot pink stars - i swapped out the black laces for hot pink & black checkerboard laces. here is a diff pair i have saved.
i have some sick wide leg 90s LEI khaki cargos that have been on heavy rotation - here are some JNCOS that resemble the pair I have (minus the cargo pockets). you don’t see a khaki JNCO moment too often!
lastly, i’ve really wanted a pair of ASICS x Kiko Kostadinov but they are priceyyyy so they remain on my watchlist for now 💌
