MAYA’S WATCHLIST: BABY TEES ★
typically you can find me in a very oversized band tee from my evergrowing vintage tee collection (here, i am wearing my prized 90s Portishead) but in more recent months where i’ve felt a little more *confident* in my body, i’ve started to buy more vintage baby tees as i’ve always had an appreciation for them. so today im going 2 risk you guys snatching some from my watchlist before i have the chance to. see below

something very sweet about vintage is sometimes you find new music by finding cool shirts! this is a vintage top from green day-esque band the mr.t experience
from my personal collection, a basically deadstock vintage Mary Lou Lord tee. for anyone’s who’s followed me/read the newsletter for some time, you’ll know that i love Elliott Smith. Mary Lou met Elliott through her former boyfriend and owner of the label Kill Rock Stars, Slim Moon - together, they ended up touring three different times throughout the 90s and have a few songs they wrote and recorded (including one of my favorites).
also, (don’t quote me on this) in 1991, Mary Lou met Kurt Cobain right before Nirvana became big big. apparently, they dated but then Courtney came into the picture somehow and the rest is obviously history. here’s her talking about it more on CBS lol
