today im a little over two weeks out from having a rib removed. on some marilyn manson type shi. except that i cant dance, i cant workout, i cant play guitar, and im essentially, for once, being forced to…”chill.” i wonder if that’s why i’ve felt so at peace and content with life. jk the surgery actually SUCKED and im in a world of pain but still…nothing is perfect in the slightest but nothing is so terribly wrong either. loving is becoming easier and i owe it to myself to keep my heart open 🖤 my friends are teaching me to love and everyday i look forward to a new experience (whether its a terrible date or discovering a new song)
lately, several things have been keeping me going. im just about done with sinead o’connor’s memoir “rememberings.” i just unearthed a love for collage-making at a work retreat and remembered how satisfying it is to craft and create with my hands. after feeling super uninspired for a long ass time around making music…just know big things are coming 💯 or maybe not big, but something amazing that i am so excited and seriously energized about. i hope to always pop in and say hey through this newsletter and i sincerely hope anyone looking for a job in our crazy market right now will refer back to some of my older posts for search inspo. part of my big girl job is finding jobs for people, so feel free to shoot me an email if you’re looking for a little help

i learned about lisa crystal carver after coming across her band suckdog, a campy kind of experimental 90s noise outfit..then read even more about her in her book “drugs are nice.” very cool to see a few copies of her old zine, rollerderby, online!
