add2watchlist: creating without purpose, new tunes, & more eBay finds :)
I have at least five newsletter drafts waiting to be sent out…the writing slump is so real, especially since most of my work has become more corporate-focused over the past few years. lately, self-expression and vulnerability have felt like a chore. it’s comforting to know that feelings can co-exist though - during this slump, I’ve also felt extremely inspired and have had bursts of creative thinking through discovering new music, playing guitar, and rediscovering old passions (getting back into dance, practicing my Arabic writing, bingeing Drag Race). reading Neko Case’s Substack and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle has inspired me to think about creative thought, stream-of-consciousness writing, and the okayness of purposelessness. it’s okay to write or create without some deep meaning behind it or a specific end goal, which isn’t a profound thought but a nice reminder to have.
